Built around a 4-axis robotic welding arm, Rotoweld 4X brings intelligent automation to everyday pipe spool production. It helps shops increase welding capacity without adding floor space or growing their crew—delivering consistent weld quality and more output from the resources they already have.
With four controlled axes, the welding arm positions the torch based on the selected weld program and delivers the precise, repeatable movement required throughout the weld, from root to fill passes—keeping production moving.
Integrated vision continuously monitors the weld while PerfectPass-iQ™ adapts welding parameters in real time. From open-root butt welds to multi-pass filling, it maintains consistent weld quality by automatically responding to changing conditions throughout the weld.
Automated welding increases production capacity by reducing manual intervention and maintaining consistent cycle times.
Automated welding sequences minimize downtime between passes, keeping the arc running and productivity high.
Repeatable welding performance helps maintain consistent quality and predictable production throughout every shift.
Designed around the operator for better comfort, control and productivity.
Designed to move quickly and easily along the rail, these pipe stands stay aligned with the rotator for consistent, accurate pipe positioning.
Engineered to align precisely with the welding arm and rails, the Rotoweld pipe rotator delivers the stability, torque, and controlled rotation needed for consistent automated welding.
The Rotoweld rail system connects the welding carriage, pipe rotator, and pipe stands into one precisely aligned automated welding system. This ensures repeatable torch positioning and consistent welding performance, regardless of pipe diameter or spool length. The modular design also makes it easy to configure the Rotoweld to match production needs and available floor space.
01
A straightforward path to automated pipe welding.
One welding bay delivers the full benefits of Rotoweld automation in its simplest configuration—ideal for smaller shops or fabrication of large, heavy pipe.
02
Maximum turnability. More production.
Two inline welding bays maximize spool turnability on both rotators while delivering over 90% arc-on time—even when welding smaller pipe diameters.
03
More spool length. Less floor space.
Opposing welding bays accommodate longer spools while keeping the overall system footprint compact.
04
Long-pipe flexibility. Shorter travel.
Back-to-back welding bays provide long-pipe capability on both sides, while minimizing carriage travel between bays when producing shorter spools.
Rotoweld uses Lincoln Electric’s STT GMAW for the root pass, followed by GMAW, MCAW, or FCAW for efficient fill passes.
GTAW is available for the root pass when application requirements call for TIG welding, followed by GMAW for efficient fill passes.
Lincoln Electric’s STT GMAW for the root pass, combined with SAW fill passes, provides high deposition rates for larger diameters and heavier-wall applications.
Fume extraction that follows the weld.
1,300 CFM maximum airflow
3-stage filtration including
HEPA, 67 dB @ 10 ft
The extraction hood travels with the Rotoweld carriage, capturing welding fumes at the source while the filtration unit remains stationary. No manual repositioning required.
More joint data. Smarter welding.
Laser sensing adds precise joint data to PerfectPass-iQ™, measuring gap, land, bevel angles and tack geometry. It pre-scans joint preparation before welding, automatically detects the pipe and tack to position the weld start, and scans the finished cap geometry after welding.
TIG roots. Automated from start to finish.
For applications requiring a GTAW root pass, Rotoweld automatically transitions from TIG root welding to GMAW fill passes. A custom torch, automatic polarity switching and quick-change tungsten system streamline the process while maintaining the productivity of automated filling.
Higher deposition. Same Rotoweld.
Add high-deposition SAW filling to your Rotoweld while keeping GMAW for the root pass. A dedicated SAW torch, integrated flux handling and adapted vision system make it easy to transition from root to efficient fill passes on the same machine.
Built to handle heavier loads and larger pipes.
PIPE STAND LOAD CAPACITY: 20,000 lb per pair
